Entrepreneurs, investors can connect at 10th Annual Innovation Expo
Forward Sioux Falls investors are invited to register for the 10th Annual Innovation Expo, an entrepreneurship conference that connects current and aspiring entrepreneurs to those service providers and financiers that can help launch their businesses. It will be held Sept. 16-17 in Sioux Falls. Early-bird registration is open until Sept. 1.
The conference kicks off with an opening party at the Icon Lounge on Monday, Sept. 16 and then the full-day conference begins at the Orpheum Theatre on Tuesday, Sept. 17. Tickets are $50 for the full conference ($40 for early-bird registration). Register at www.sdinnovationexpo.com.
Six keynote speakers that will share their entrepreneurship stories and lessons learned. Scot Chisholm founded StayClassy in 2006 to raise money for cancer research after his mother battled the disease multiple times. Today, StayClassy is an online platform that powers the fundraising of more than 3,000 nonprofit organizations worldwide. Jon Crawford is a self-proclaimed startup junkie and founder of Storenvy.com, an online store platform for creative and unique businesses. Scott Hanselman is a programmer, teacher and speaker working for the Web Platform Team at Microsoft. He is a technology, culture, gadgets, diversity, code and web enthusiast. Bill Payne is a business executive, entrepreneur and angel investor. He has funded more than 50 companies and mentored more than 100. He is a founding member of four angel organizations: Aztec Venture Network, Tech Coast Angels, Vegas Valley Angels and Frontier Angel Fund. Neal Sales-Griffin is the co-founder and CEO of The Starter League. His sworn purpose is to solve meaningful problems through technology and empower everyone he can. Pamela Slim is a seasoned coach and writer who helps frustrated employees in corporate jobs break out and start their own businesses.
In addition, there will be demo sessions from local and regional entrepreneurs, a student idea competition with audience voting and networking time.
