TechEd Works for Me campaign press conference Thursday
In direct response to an increasing need for skilled workers in expanding industries in the region, Forward Sioux Falls has partnered with Southeast Technical Institute to promote technical education. Since Forward Sioux Falls’ initial investment, more than 25 additional industry organizations and businesses have joined together to support this endeavor. These partners are looking to the initiative to have a lasting impact on the community by addressing industry needs and creating a sustainable workforce, now and in the future.
Southeast Technical Institute and Forward Sioux Falls will hold a press conference to discuss their collaboration in the TechEd Works for Me three-year initiative:

The campaign will raise awareness for students, parents and employers that technical education works and can be a fast track solution to a lucrative career. Through direct mail, print and online advertising and information, students and parents can learn about technical education and the rewarding careers that are available. In addition, informational Tech Talk meetings being held with high school students and parents throughout the region provide further information. More information is available at www.techedworks.com.
Southeast Tech has more than 50 career paths to choose from. Southeast Tech offers Associate of Applied Science degrees (AAS) as well as diplomas and certificates. AAS degrees generally take 24 months or less to complete, while diplomas and certificates typically take one year or less. Southeast Tech is one of South Dakota's most affordable post-secondary institutions and turns out the third largest higher education graduating class in the state.
